Tata Sky Continues to Lead DTH Market in India, Ties Up With SonyLIV for Tata Sky Binge Service

 

The DTH operator announced that Tata Sky has maintained its market leadership for four consecutive segments. Citing data provided by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Tata Sky reported a market share of 32.09 per cent for the quarter ended June 30. The operator has also partnered with the Over the Top (OTT) platform. Sony Leo Tata Skybenj will offer on-demand shows, movies and sports content to its customers. Tata Sky Bangs already offers content from nine OTT platforms, including Disney + Hotstar, Eros Now, Hungama Play, and Z5.

Data provided by TRAI’s latest Indian Telecom Services Performance Indicators report shows that the operator’s market share increased by about 0.5 to 0.5 per cent in the April-June quarter 2020 from 31.61 per cent in July. ۔ September quarter of last year.

Tata Sky said it had about 7.5 lakh subscribers in the last four quarters. However, if we look at its quarterly performance over the quarter based on the given TRAI data, the operator has lost 0.24% of the stock since the last quarter ended March 31.
